UMUAHIA—The governor of Abia State Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, weekend,
expressed optimism that the political crisis rocking the state
would make it stronger.
Speaking at a ceremony to mark the 25th anniversary of the
creation of Abia State, Governor Ikpeazu noted that “what we

The low-key event, held at the Michael Okpara Auditorium and
which was preceded by an inter-denominational church
service, according to Ikpeazu, would afford Abia people the
opportunity to reflect on the character of the Abia personality
of hard work, dedication and honesty.
Governor Ikpeazu commended the sacrifice of the founding
fathers of the State, saying that it “was a challenge for us to
march forward for the greatness of the state.
“Abia will shine forth as the SME capital of Nigeria; it will
shine forth as the leading entrepreneurial center not only in
the South East but Nigeria in general; Abia would be the state
that would link the South East to the sea.”
Governor Ikpeazu used the occasion to unveil Abia State
anthem and prayed that “God will fulfill the lyrics of the
anthem in our lives”, even as he described the Abia logo as
“representing our identity; it represents the Abia
entrepreneurial spirit and hard work.”
